Unable to Move on my Own
I long to be floating
Like a cosmic satellite through space
Just emptiness and black.
The stars whooshing by
But I can’t tell how fast I’m going
Or where I’m going
Because no matter how hard I try
I can’t swim in nothingness.
So I’ll let the gravity take me
To another lonely planet
With rocks and dust and heavy air
That I inhale into my lungs.
The nebulas are endless
As I have just what I long for
Enough space to get away
From all of Earth’s heavy burdons.

I always think about the momentum in space, and how nothing could sop you if you got flung out there, so I wrote a poem about it.
