I glared over my town
from atop my pyramid,
and my people worked and praised me.
Yet I felt empty.
Get me out of here!

My feet churned beneath me...
The arrows, flew quickly like lightning
I cannot outrun them.
Get me out of here!

My legs cramped and my biceps tight.
Opening my eyes provided blackness like night.
My body was rotted, the stench unbearable.
Get me out of here!

I heard many voices outside of my case.
Maybe they could have helped me!
Did they not know I was alive?
Get me out of here!

The daily murmurs produced anxiety.
I had given up, I wasn’t getting out.
I’ll never be a king again.
Please…Get me out of here!

I found a latch on the inside,
opened the casket to be blinded by light.
I was back and ready to haunt the earth.
Finally, I was out of there.
