Skies of ebony and violet fill the moonlit sky
I lie there still, barely breathing, peering through one eye
I hear it’s angry woesome cry, this creature clearly jeering
My heart echoes off the castle walls, as I start to drown in fear
I hear the heavy footsteps, the gravewalker is near.

A rattle of cages and the echo of crows
The woeful moaning slowly grows
I hide my face, I curl my toes
This creature's presence is very clear
The gravewalker is near.

I hear its hooves on limestone steps
The beast is near, it will not rest
My hearts now aching in my chest
It smells my blood it smells my fear
The gravewalker is near

I want to run, I want to hide
Either way i'm going to die
The tales are true, I should have guessed
Before I opened that cursed chest
The gravewalker is near

Now I hear it's angry breaths it's right outside my door
I watch as light dances through the cracks, holding my terrified glare
I hear the door as it starts to creek
Finally the beast has found what it seeks
The gravewalker is here.

Felt like my writing needed a dark side.
