I see the truck park across the street
The man in blue clothes stumbles out with boxes and a bag
The beads of sweat fall down his face
As he walks from house to house in the summer heat
He walks onto my porch and opens the box
He puts letters, bills, and envelopes inside
I emerge from my house with a smile and grab the gifts he’s left
I thank him for his hard work and labor
I am grateful for the mail that he has delivered
