There was a clock
A dial to the back, but not to the front
It had the power of change, powers that people dream of
To turn back time, change the past
I stared back at the clock that was staring back at me
With its beating eyes
The polished metal, and glass that showed my reflection,
But not of me, but of my younger self
I go to turn back the dial, but there is hesitation
All the bad is gone, along with that, the good too
The past will change, but so will I
I sat there, thinking, wondering, with doubt, with fear
The clock shattered in my hands
The broken glass stares back, with pain in its eyes
But now, in its reflection
I see myself
Not from the past, not from the future, but now
Suddenly, I am happy
