It’s red
A blissful color that never ceases to seize the day
A brilliant concoction brewed by
The bond of two people, which is an eternal flame
Fanned by the fumes of a persistent love
Fathers and Daughters

It’s blue
Softer and cooler than any sky witnessed
A divine perfume that when smelt
Reminded of the time when they were together
Spending time in a manner that speaks harmony
Fathers and Daughters

It’s green
Dare I say it’s grotesque
Like the zonked after taste
Of a fight, an ignorant disagreement
Yet never critical enough to break the bond of
Fathers and Daughters

It’s yellow
The color of the sun on that hot summer day
When he drove persistently to take his love
To the places she desired
Although the sun sets, don’t dare dull this color
Fathers and Daughters

It’s purple
The syrupy, velvety kind
The kind that produces a burst of warmth inside
A result of the creation of memories
And the alluring reminiscing
Fathers and Daughters

It’s grey
Jaded and dulled by an abrupt thought
The notion that soon enough she will be gone
And grown, and smart, and beautiful
And gone… and moved on…
Fathers and Daughters

It’s everything
It’s every color you’ve ever seen, and perhaps even more
It’ll make you cry and laugh and yell and fly
For no single hue may dare describe
This infinite bond of
Fathers and Daughters
