Forest of Knowledge
The forest is quiet today, a smell of dew in the air.
Two sets of eyes both set on the damp soggy ground, full of rocks.
One knows the way by heart, the other... is learning.
The first set of eyes see deer tracks and thinks of what has happened here.
The other sees the path of a rabbit and thinks of where it must be going.
The first looks into the forest and sees all of it’s wondrous stories,
the other imagines what could be hiding behind these trees.
The first has seen more, the other seen less.
The first one a mother, who very much knows best.
The second her daughter, who is now very impressed.

This was a multigenerational piece that I wrote with my mother about the wonder of nature.
