Childhood Comes to an End
When we are children, everything is simple
Carefree and worriless
Stress-free homework, stress-free playdates
Everybody friends with everybody
When does childhood end?
When do those stress-free, careless days turn into reality?
When do we realize there is bad in the world?
When do we have to join the real world?
Childhood ends when we put those black clothes on and gloomily walk through the front door of the funeral home
Childhood ends when we see the body of our loved one still and cold
This body was once full of life and it’s hard to imagine not seeing her happy self
Childhood ends when we watch your loved one being buried
Childhood ends when we go to visit her at the graveyard for the first time
Childhood ends when we come to the realization that we are never going to see that loved one again
Never hear her voice again
Childhood has to end
Life is no longer simplistic and carefree
Your heart empties by the minute
Life seems cruel and cold
Reality isn’t as you hoped
Why can’t the world stay simple?
Why do the people we love have to die?
Why does childhood have to end?
Childhood is so much better
