The Rapids were taking me in
Swallowing me
All of me
Waves collided with my lungs
Knocking out my smallest of breaths
Salt was forced into my eyes
The clouds above me roared
I roared too
Roared in agony
Then I felt it
Sickening peace
The light was dragged away from my eyes
I faded
The waves took away my body
The water washed out my soul
Where were you
My last thought
You could’ve saved me
But you didn’t.
