The Ringing
There’s hatred
There’s sadness
There’s hurt
And then there is you
Two years together
The lies eating me alive
The constant stern tone over small things
Time and money spent
I was shattered
To think you were with me out of pity
Longing something that you didn't feel
You said I deserve better
And yet I still wear this ring
The ring that meant you promised
But yet there’s this ringing in my ear of you saying “I love you”
Was it just a force of habit?
