now you're fishing
Early morning breeze,
The steam from coffee cup
And the stench of bait.
Roaring up the river-
To the honey hole,
Rods at the ready.
Grab the rod, both hands
Pull down the line with cold fingers
As the other hand opens the bail
Rear back
Whip the rod forward
Release the line.
Splash!
Now you’re fishing.
Rod tips dancing on the rocks,
Waiting for the tug-
That becomes a drug.
Shoot I'm snagged.
But wait,
Rocks don't move?
It's a fish,
Pulling at the line.

I wrote this pease because I love to fish and want people to see what I see when I go fishing, and when I go fishing with people they know how to fish.
