The Fire of Hope

Behind her sorrow filled gaze,
there's always a light.
A small flame that will never drown
No matter how deep.
Her slight smile.
A small hole in the wall,
cutting her off
from joy.
And laughter.
The force,
that shatters the wall.
Creating a doorway.
an invitation,
to happiness.
With each step,
the flame burns brighter.
With each step,
the water disappears.
Hope propels her forward.
away from the surging ocean besieging her,
and into the luminous sunrise
of happiness.
