I wish I could forget
I wish I could forget you
All the pointless tears
All the anger
The memories have faded
But yet they still haunt me
You let me go knowing I needed you
I remember the “I Love You’s”
Like they meant something to you
But you fooled me too
I sit alone
My thoughts surrounding me
In going to count to three
Once I do you will be gone too

I wrote this poem because I went through a tough breakup. It was toxic and I didn’t realize until it was too late. I wrote this to let my feelings out and I realized that it was good, had a strong voice, and showed how I feel.
