Achilles's Shield
I was created by the only two hands more powerful
than the ones that call me theirs
I could not hate the fate that was made
I live to protect, to create
I am woman
I live to end lives, to start wars
I am man
Decorated by the moon and stars
I am a brick wall one can carry forth
Hephaestus, how hast thou hands crafted such strength?
I never once thought that dark crimson blood would
drip drip drip from my body
And cause one’s story to stop
Then again, I am as unpredictable as an earthquake
But just as life shattering.
