As the leaves changed, so did I
And there was no turning back
The wind harsh and cold swept away all I had of compassion
It took away every last drop of what I knew to be human
It left me no trace of a heart I once had.
I long to go back to that cool October night
When my heart was the only thing that kept me warm
My hope, the only thing that kept me smiling now stripped from me
I'm different now, I changed
So when I say I changed, it was for good
I became comfortable with the world
The cruel, dark, twisted world, now heartless like me
I became stronger and smarter
I now know how to get what I want when I want, but at a cost, my soul
I now know how to pick and pluck every negative aspect of the world so that they cover the good
And I know now how to critic all my flaws, but who am I kidding, is there anything good about me?
I am able to see the world from society's standards and read their lies as a truth of my own
So when I say I changed,

it wasn't me.
