What would you see
When my eyes cannot see you?
What would you say
When my throat cannot speak to you?
What would you do
When my hands cannot touch you
What would you do?

Would you gnash out your own eyes
So you cannot see me?
Would you rip your own tongue
So you cannot speak to me?
Would you scorch your own palms
So you cannot touch me?
What would you do?

Can you see my fear?
Can you hear my anxiety?
Can you feel my nerves?
Can you understand

Will you understand

me?
What would you do?

Do you blame me
When I cannot see you?
Do you blame me
When I cannot speak to you?
Do you blame me
When I cannot touch you?
What would you do?

What would you do?
What would I do?

The author's comments:

I am always afraid of doing or saying something wrong. For a long time I have had to fake confidence, but over time that confidence became real. I still bottle myself up, but I can be more confident in loving my friends and family. I hope that this causes people to think and grow. To not be afraid to be confident, or to work at trying to be. It's not easy, but it is amazing to have.
