The bitter smell of nicotine stained your skin
And crept into your glass lungs
You welcomed the pure poison more than I
As you inhaled the worst the world could offer,
and now I’m left embracing someone else
Because like the smoke
you lingered for a split second
And then
the wind took you.

My grandfather died from lung cancer and this peice has an emotional effect on not only me, but hopefully the others who have lost someone to lung cancer due to cigarettes.
