My Beautiful Mother
You're as pretty as a flower
You shine as bright as the sun
The love I have for you?
Trust me there's a ton
For nine months you held me in your tummy
Now i'm almost eighteen and learning to play rummy
I know this isn't much because i'm poor
But everything i'm saying comes from my core
You are my hero, you are the best
You're the only one who helps me study for tests
I know that we fight, we bicker too
But if you weren't my mom, I don't know what i'd do
I can't buy you a ring, or a nice new car
But i'm writing this so you know that you are a star
You are a queen, nothing but royalty
Everything you do, you do it so joyfully
Whenever i'm down you pick me up
You showed me that sometimes you have to be tough
I know this is cheesy, but it's all i could do
This is my way to show id be nothing without you

I wrote this as a birthday present to my mom. She does so much for me and I felt bad that I couldnt buy her anything for her birthday. I came to conclusion that I would write a sweet poem, from the heart, to show how much I appreciate her.
