This Empty Hole
Last year so close
This year so far
You said you’d always be here
But where are you now?
You came into my life
Then ran out a door
I should’ve known better than to fall down the hole
So dark and so deep
With nowhere to go
No light can be seen from down below
This vacant space has swallowed me whole
Consumed everything I have ever known
From happiness and brightness, to smiles and laughter
To everything that makes a soul so pure
