You Never Even Told Me Why

Everything went still and my heart fell silent, for it realized you weren't coming back. It felt like a nightmare enclosing my soul. It was always in the back of my mind but I never actually believed it would happen. I was trapped inside myself and suddenly couldn't remember anything before you. My whole world stopped in its tracks as it listened for the faint whisper of you. Silence. You were gone and you weren't coming back, and the worst part was you never even told me why.
