Double plays, good at bats,
Derek Jeter, Mariano Rivera,
Extra innings, ALDS,
Not bad hops off faces,
Line drives, walk-off hits,
A crisp double play.
Big hitters, long home runs,
The stitches after a HBP,
Hit and runs, some bunts,
Bloody pants from cut up knees,
Announcers calling your name,
Girls who come to games,
Doubleheaders on sunny days,
Not for rain delays,
When the count is three-two,
The winning run is on third,
And fastballs, a whole lot of fastballs,
Baseball is what I’m thankful for.
