The Dead Walk!
Cold day in 1968
Over in western Pennsylvania
Driving through the graveyard
With a girl in the seat next to me
Barbara, they're gonna get you
She begs me to stop repeating
That dreaded old phrase
Barbara, they're gonna get you
Corpse walking above ground
Making a beeline right for us
It takes me out
Now it's just the girl
Barbara, they're gonna get you
She's running to a nearby house
Pounding on the door
Some kind young man opens it
He lets her in
Barbara, they're gonna get you
Night time comes
It's all sorts of peaceful
Then, a pound at the window
The dead start to walk again
Barbara, they're gonna get you
They break the glass
Chip at the feeble door
They're inside now
The gentleman is dead
Barbara, they're gonna get you
They've got her cornered at a wall
Blinded by fear, she faints
Barbara, they've got you

This is a small Halloween piece I wrote for a creative writing class. It's based off of George Romero's 1968 classic Night of the Living Dead.
