Ask me to stay the night
and leave my heart on the horizon,
and I suppose that's all I ever was to you--
something inside--
reserved for midnight park benches
and the words that can tear
someone apart, in all the right ways.
But now I wonder if someday,
somewhere--I will fall in love with a man
unconditionally
escaping into every part of him
until he is the only thing I see.
