Heartbreak Chronicles
we made a promise.
we intertwined our pinkies and swore
that we would be together for eternity.
but you broke that promise
like how you broke my heart
shredding it into thin, fragile pieces
and stomping on it with your chunky black boots.
you brushed me away
as if i was a miniscule piece of lint on your sweater.
and yet,
i’m still here.
pining for you to pick up the few remaining pieces of my heart
and staple it back together with your presence
but you won’t.
and now i’m stuck in a whirlpool of desolation
a storm you dragged me into.
