The Audition
Arriving at the unknown place
The nerves showing on my face
Seeing all the other girls
Made my stomach do many twirls
I was number forty
All I wanted to do was flee
But then forty was called
And I was enthralled
The theater made me calm
My nerves ran away from my palms
I knew I was confident
And I only had to sing once
Making people laugh and smile is my signature
Though most of the audition was a blur
I heard a lot of laughs in the room
The laughs and smiles are what I consumed
I left the audition with a smile on my face
I knew my grand mom was looking down with happiness and grace
Now I just wait to hear
This waiting feels like it is taking a year
