The Things We Don’t Know
It’s all a facade.
None of it is real.
Not the laughs.
Not the smiles.
Not the good times you’ve had.
They keep their mask on.
Always hiding their feelings.
They want you to believe,
That everything’s fine.
But it’s not.
They keep the scars hidden.
They keep the wounds clean.
Because when the day is done,
Who really cares about them?
If only they knew how much they were loved.
For now we can believe them.
Because that’s what you do,
You humor children.
In the end though,
They must be saved.
If we leave them alone,
The sadness will take them.
We can’t let that happen.
So love each other.
Love each other, before it’s too late.
