Couldn't believe it was true
Walking through the night wondering about you.
How can something tragic be so true?
Hearing yelling and crying in the night,
Not knowing what lies ahead.
Couldn't believe it was true.
That strange feeling welling up inside,
Everyone averting my gaze.
How can something tragic be so true?
Knowing I look so much like her,
Feeling the shame of sharing the look.
Couldn't believe it was true.
Seeing the anger in my brother's eyes,
The terrible feeling of betrayal.
How can something tragic be so true?
Getting the news of the death of my mother,
Couldn't believe it was true.
Feeling the guilt for the treatment I gave,
How can something tragic be so true?
