Chaos surrounds us
Violence spreads amongst us
Children’s laughter
Drowned out by the sound of
Ricocheting bullets
Mothers’ lullabies
Replaced with agonizing
Echoing screams
Cities destroyed
Lives taken
A world nowhere near peace
They cry for help
They beg for mercy
But it’s not enough
We must fight back
We must take a stand
We will not be shunned
We will not be silenced
This is our fight
And we will win.
