Antidepressants
You follow me everywhere I go
Whether I’m brushing my teeth or at a party,
You’re everywhere.
You won’t leave me alone.
All I want in life is to be able to live
To live without this dark cloud always storming overhead
“Go away”, but you stay
You’re with me with every interaction
When I talk to a friend, or my mother
I’m never alone, but somehow, I am always lonely
You make it hard to make friends
Hard to talk to a group of people
Hard to get out of bed, to eat, to take care of myself
I would say that I am sad, but that’s not right.
Depression isn’t just being sad.
It’s this dark shroud over you that makes it difficult to do even the most trivial of things.
I can’t even look at a damn meme without feeling numb
Stupid brain, why do you gotta have messed up chemistry?
You follow me everywhere I go
Depression, just leave me the hell alone.
