In a room full of people, I'm all alone...
-Me

Sparks Fly, I was singing
Standing on that stupid plastic playground
You stood and gawked at me
But was it in awe or was it mockery?
Telling me I can sing well, making me perform
Then laughing at me in the hall and whispering behind my back
You made me feel important
But then you made me feel low

Telling me to try to be like you cool girls
But were you really cool?
All you did was bring me down
And as far as I’m concerned,
There’s nothing cool about that
And another thing you didn’t know
I’m not into that stuff
Those shiny, blingy clothes and
Those stupid fake a** smiles

I can see it now; the past is burned into my head
You made fun of me because I wasn’t popular,
Well looks who’s laughing now.
I don’t need your looks or your preppy clothes
I’m myself, whereas you’re following trends
Fake as plastic, aren’t you girl?
While I’m shining like a diamond, you crumble like dirt
Good luck in the real world if you think that’s all you’ve got going for you

The author's comments:

When I was in elementary school, I was bullied...Today, I heard an old song and it brought back memories of said bullying..And it also reminded me of why that doesn't stop me now, now that I'm old enough to realize that I'm my own person and they don't matter.

Writing makes me feel better, so I decided to type it up.
