Where I'm From
I am from a seasonal breeze,
smells of nature,
and freshly dew covered grass.
From shining sapphire mornings spent fishing,
days wasted with friends
and nights running to avoid the sandman.
I am from the strong value of family,
helping without merit—
other than family love.
I am from a father
keeping me kinder, stronger and smarter
than the days behind me.
I am from a mother
baking cookies to heal me,
making sure I know, she loves me.
From two younger brothers,
trying their hardest,
to be my incarnation.
I am from friends
who I trust
to hold my deepest secrets.
I am from teachers,
helping my future
Keeping me on the track of success
I am from blessings,
abundant regrets,
and an overwhelming desire for the future.
