"When the blood in your veins returns to the sea, and the Earth in your bones returns to the ground, perhaps then you will remember that this land does not belong to you, it is you who belongs to this land" - Native American Proverb

The darkness is beginning to close in
If I let it take over then the darkness will be the one to win
I’m being dragged down by the weight of my sins

Greed is beginning to cloud my mind
It’s a green venom in my veins that I find
I cannot see the brightness because greed makes me blind

My pride is beginning to pour from my chest
It cannot be held back with the strongest of vests
My chest is puffed as I show my golden crest

My feet drag on, pulled by sloth, along the ground
I’m always tired, always wanting to lie down
Slowly closing my eyes, sleeping with no sound

My wrath is beginning to clench my fists
My teeth gritted, voice letting out a deadly hiss
My eyes enraged, fist swing, and better hope I miss

I’m beginning to feel my gluttony as I begin to grow plump
The more I eat the more my heart is pleased and thumps
I stuff myself to the brim until in my throat is a lump

My lust is beginning to consume my heart
My desire growing, pleasure to be satisfied for a start
All the more my eyes are glazed and wanting, hoping for more in this art

My envy will chain you to a post
You are mine and no one else’s; unless you wish to be a ghost
My eyes glow green, my envy enlarges as you boast

The darkness is beginning to close in
If I let it take over then the darkness will be the one to win
I’m being dragged down by the weight of my sins
