"The darker the night, the brighter the stars; the deeper the grief, the closer is God" - Fyodor Dostoevsky

Joy and Sorrow, Light and Night,
Thou timeless rivals,
Thy quarrel shakes the human Spirit,
Thy battlefield is the human Heart.

She is the Light amidst my Shadows;
Her smile consoles me,
Her blazing eyes kindle my Heart,
In her embrace I take Delight.

Why does morning turn to dusk?
Why does blooming flower turn to dust?
Why does tempered metal turn to rust?
Oh why, oh why does Beauty die?

Happiness, thou fleeting dove,
One moment here, the next one gone.
Leaving a pit, an endless hollow,
Promptly sealed by Pain and Sorrow.

Love turns to Hatred,
For her Light is taken;
Her Love is poisoned,
By overbearing bearers.

And in her absence my Heart aches.
The emptiness of my Soul creeps forth,
Expanding, surrounding, corrupting,
The consequence of Pain and Sorrow.

And I lay here, as Darkness falls,
My thought on thee, on thy unwavering smile,
Waiting for the coming Light,
Thy ceaseless Joy.

Beauty, twice dethroned,
Thy reborn Kingdom shall forever endure.

This was also inspired by my crush. I was writing about how hopeless my situation was, but in the end I found the Light
