Unrequited Love

August 28, 2017

Unrequited love:
It's more complicated than just a dictionary definition
It's a math problem with no solution
Like those math problems they teach in 5th grade
"A car is traveling 60 mph to point a and another is traveling 55 miles to point b when will their paths cross?"
And for 5 years I've been waiting for these roads to intertwine
But you're going 100 on the highway to heaven
When I'm stuck, broken down in the desert
Waiting to be saved.
Math has never worked out for me
And I guess you didn't, either.

Be happy, not because everything you see is good, but because you can see the good in everything.

Wow! This is great. I liked the way you included that part about math. It gave the poem a lot deeper meaning, about where paths cross. Fantastic job!
