A Different Type
You will find a new sort of okay
One where it’s understood that things are not going back to the way they were
Where it’s a case of doing what we must and not what we want, the idea being to preserve what remains
An okay that accepts that we cannot work around it, ignore it, or even clean it up
But take it in and withstand it in any way possible
That it has now become a part of what you are, where you are, where you are going
And it will take your eternity but
You will find a new sort of okay

Written for a friend, but I also realize that this is written for myself. For life-changing events but also small things that made me need to stop and step back before stepping back into life. A daily reminder to keep going.
