For a while, my relationship with my ex-boyfriend was rocky. I found myself constantly trying to appease him by changing myself, hoping that would be the answer to our problems. However, I soon realized that I couldn't force something that wasn't there. Our relationship was leaving both of us unhappy and me trying to force it wasn't doing any good. When we officially broke up, I wrote this poem to remind myself what I had gone through.
