Swimming

I'm a good swimmer
I like the shimmer
Of the sea

               I like riding the
W
   A
        V
   E
         S
I like

     F L O A T I N G

I'm such a good swimmer

                        When I swim I'm

F R E E

  No one's stopping me.

But sometimes I feel like I'm

D
  R
    O
       W
            N
               I
                 N
                    G

A sweet descent
No one can save me
Not even myself

I can't swim
Without
Drowning

I can't

F L O A T

Without
Water

Filling.

Killing.

My lungs

Instead the water
Holds me

D
O
W
N

I'm supposed to be a good swimmer
But I can't swim
Without

D

R

O

W

N

I

N

G

A sweet descent

For my
Tears bury
   Me
And make me

DROWN.

The author's comments:

I wrote this piece for a school project. It supposed to be an ironic poem. Someone who's able to swim all of a sudden feels like there drowning. This can also be a metaphor for life because this could mean someone who had great control over their life lost it.
