The New Me
Summer is gone and school has begun
I am anxious to begin a new school, new year, a new me
Although I am older, there are many childhood songs left to be sung
But I'm in high school now, unable to let anyone see
The Little girl that is still inside of me
Everyone around me seems so grown
Sometimes I want to lock myself in my youth and throw away the key
So I will set and observe all that is around
And decide for myself who I should be
I won't go unheard or never make a sound
I will adjust to the person I am becoming
I will adjust to the new me

I created this right before I started my first year of high school. I wrote this in hopes of getting out all of my fears that I was holding inside. This is one my most favorite peoms that I have written yet.
