Lights Out
Daydreams, Hallucinations
Nightmares, figments of imagination
Things not really there, apparitions
Putting things off, procrastination
Things we do always haunt us
Things we don't do come back to taunt us
Some people see it fit to mock us
The rejects of society, the returns
White walls, machines beeping
Hopeful faces, some weeping
Trying to wake up, fingers twitching
Darkness, soul slowly slipping
Amazing, life can end so easily
A small mistake proves to be very costly
We are so fragile, like porcelain dolls
One mistake, one bad fall
And then it's over, like we were never really there
After a while we're dust, a whisper of air
Only those that make a name for themselves are remembered
The rest are gone, from flames to embers.
