Ellipsism:
The sadness that you will never know how history turns out
You can only live as long as you live
You will never be satisfied
History will never “turn out”
Because it will never end
It will just keep going,
Even after you no longer have the option to keep going.
But, there is another option:

Énouement:
The bittersweet feeling of having finally arrived in the future,
But being unable to tell your past self how it turns out
This isn’t always bad, though
What if you DID tell your past self,
And knowing how things turn out…
You acted differently and changed the future.
Then where would you be?
It’s either ellipsism, or énouement.
But either way,
You don’t end up satisfie
