Life's Turns
Life takes such turns that one can be left wondering how to react,
All those experiences shape a person to become the person they are today,
Downfalls can put a person through various struggles,
Such struggles consist of physical, mental, and emotional stress,
At the end of each downfall there is a new happiness, a ray of hope that the coming days will be bright,
Little does one know that happiness and sorrow in life is a cycle,
One follows the other without a halt,
No amount of begging and crying would bring a stop to the cycle,
That's why one should know that life is actually an adventure where this cycle goes on continuously,
Just because the duration of time between joy and grief is unknown doesn't mean the cycle is over…
It is still in process…

Basically my ups and downs in my life inspired me to write this poem. It was written to be a reminder to me to not get too arrogant or proud when I am having success in life. I wish all the readers also get my message that success and failure are part of life and one should learn to accept them. At times of failure, don't give up but have hope that better days are going to come soon. However, at times of success, one shouldn't become haughty and arrogrant but be humble and kind. Character and actions count a lot.
