All My Friends Have Cars

All my friends have cars
And it upsets me.
They all smile as they drive by,
But not a single wave,
As their hands must stay on the steering wheel.
I hear the pavement crackling,
Gravel moving under the spinning wheels.
They only look for a moment,
Then readjust their attention to the road ahead.
And I’m stuck waiting for the bus,
Hoping I don’t get left behind.
