Actress
I’d like to say that I’m an actress
Not a star in a movie where I have 1 million takes
I’m an actress that’s always putting on a show
But not a show for other people
A show for myself
A show that doesn’t display who I am
I’d like to pretend that I’m an actress that is “live” all of the time
I galavant my stage with a smile and a laugh like chimes
The character I play is a naive girl
A girl that laughs and smiles
A girl that always is happy
A girl with bright eyes and an intelligent brain
This character is someone who loves to talk and always fills the silence
But that’s my character
You see I can actually be a great actress
I portray that character nicely
But sometimes I sit and I wonder
When will this show end?

This piece is about not just me but many people. Sadly there are many people (esspecially people around the teenage years) are not confident about being themselves. I feel as if this piece reveals that maybe they aren't the person people want to be. It also may give some people a sense of familiarity that may help them realize that their "show" should "end," and should take the time to realize they should be who they really are.
