cannot be found
in the eyes of the beholder
is where beauty lies
perhaps on silk scarlet sheets
her voice may be soft and sweet
the type of melody that remains not only in your ears
but in your soul as well
her scent is sickly sweet and syrupy
and as coquettish as her attitude
almost resembling succulent cotton candy
it also could be
that beauty is not a ‘she’
but in fact a ‘him’
it’s possible that instead of silk scarlet sheets
he lies atop a scenic shore
allowing the salty, undulating waves
to caress him gently
the sound of his speech
is booming and boisterous
but calm and tranquil all at once
his aroma instead consists
of fresh linen
and a brisk ocean breeze
it also is quite plausible
that the sole definition of beauty
cannot be found
as it has no face, sound, scent nor sound
because after all
beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder,
doesn’t it?
