Dreams from Dystopia
She comes from the land of Suburbia
where the houses look the same
and the trees are engraved
with initials of lovers she so desperately craves
The girl looks around the dystopia created just for her
Does she know there's more than the same blue skies and boring teenage guys?
These past eighteen years have been a blur
but the Earth constantly spins and spins
and the melancholy suburb makes the devil crawl up her skin
One day, she takes a journey to the city that never sleeps
and her innocence starts to weep
The grungy aesthetic of the city makes the secret rebel inside her
feel alive for the very first time
She paints a world full of fantasies and hopes to play the starring role
And be more than the role of the goody two shoes she's created
Her spirit connects the bright lights from the skyscrapers and
she becomes a mystery at night
She kisses boys under stadium lights and feels some sort of release
Wonders will never cease the girl from Suburbia
but her wings are ready to soar and take flight
