In Darkness Dwelt

As you emerge
from icy water,
your thoughts return,
one by one,
just like magic.
As you begin
to breathe again,
watch the eagles
breaking the ice
piece by piece.
As you return
to sky, discover
your true nature
as you fly
with the eagles.

I was inspired to write this piece by thinking about the struggles that people endure, like mental illness, relationships, addiction, and stress. I focused my poem on the freeing feeling of learning to overcome one's struggles.
