The Connotations of Color
Similarly to how in purple
one may disinter red
I was left muddled with whether it was passion
or truly anger that we bred
So I searched for serenity, subsumed myself in blue
Found myself secretly hoping that you would do it too
Witnessing the way you adored yellow
that gaze, a look I had tried to wean
left me sinking deeper into an abyss of turbid green
Seeking light, I awoke in black
Finally realizing, you would never take me back
