It is all the sunsets I have seen
that show me just how beautiful the world can be.
A rainbow of pastels as the sun dips down,
warm rosy pink fading to lavender and then
transitioning to the pale baby blue of a sky not quite ready to welcome the night.
It is the sunsets I have seen
that remind me the mistakes I make do not matter in the end.
A golden glow surrounded by streaks of burning red and orange,
giving the appearance of a sky on fire as the sun descends.
It is the sunsets I have seen
that make me grateful for all that I am and everything I have.
A cerulean sea marked with smudges of bright pinks and dusky lilacs
made by a paintbrush on the canvas of the sky as the sun makes its final journey.
It is the moments when the sun sets,
creating a palette of breathtaking hues and shades of every color that is never the same each time,
that inspire me and teach me that the outcome of something is not the most important;
it is how we arrive at that outcome that is what truly matters.
