the one who has trouble believing

yes, i know it's hard to believe
that was those
hands, the ones
that caressed your skin
the ones that caused
mountains of goosebumps to arise
on the oh-so-familiar
dips and curves of the
body he has memorized.
they were the same pair that
danced across the handle
of the door, performing
a recital of leaving
across the atmosphere
you two once shared.
they were the ones that
ignored the gentle pleas
that escaped from your bitten tongue
but chose to close the
door anyways, forming you
into a mere afterthought.
