Heartbreak
I have shed many tears in the past
But no amount can compare
To how many my sea blue orbs
Have shed these nights
My heart has ached and cracked many a time
But when those words left your lips
It shattered like a crystal vase on cold concrete
Pieces large and small flying in all directions
I know not when my heartbreak will fully heal
All I know is there is a piece missing
You have that piece
And always will
My thoughts fly with questions
What happened to us?
What about our talk of being married?
What about our future family?
Have I really taken that for granted?
My heart will not heal
Unless I have that piece
I gave you that piece when I found you
I gave it to you when I professed my love
And you kept it when it broke from the rest
